Real Easter Egg Competition Winners Announced

We had a huge entry for our competition this year. After quite some time judging and deliberating, we are delighted to present the winners, runners up and one honourable mention from our competition. Each of the winning schools/churches will receive £250 while the runners up will get £150. Each of the young artists will be sent one of our Special Edition Real Easter Eggs. We wanted to see how young people visualised Easter Sunday and we were very happy to see a great focus on the joy of the resurrection.

Our senior competition was jointly won by these two remarkable entries from St Paul’s Catholic College in Wythenshawe which each focus on the moment the women meet with an angel at the empty tomb.

Our Messy Church/Sunday School competition was also won jointly by these two entries from St Andrews, Droitwich. We felt there was a great deal of joy in these pictures which is highly appropriate on an Easter Sunday.

We had a massive entry from primary schools but this entry from St Wilfrid's primary school in Hartford was chosen as the winner. We loved the image of the risen Jesus, arms open in embrace of the world, leaving the tomb.

Our senior runner up was from Loreto Grammar which beautifully shows the risen Jesus returning to his friends.

Our primary runner up is also bright and joyful as the women meet the young man dressed in white as mentioned in Mark 16. This lovely entry came from Frittenden Primary School in Kent

We also have to give an honourable mention to this primary entry from St Philip’s in Arundel which we thought could be the cover of a book about the Easter story.

The Messy Church runner up came from Foxdale Messy Church on the Isle of Man. It wonderfully captures the moment from St John’s Gospel when Mary thought Jesus was a gardener until he said her name.

Many thanks to all the young people, teachers and group leaders who entered our competition this year. We hope you all have a joyful Easter.
